How I adjusted to working from home during Covid-19

I have always been way more productive while working from home, but I realized very quickly that this was a whole new ballgame. I never needed to work from home with a full house or with so many outside distractions. It took me a solid 2-3 weeks to get grounded again. Here’s what helped me:

  • Luckily, I already had a good setup, but having a designated place to work to help keep my mind from wandering, which enabled me to focus and increase productivity helped a bunch
  • Setting boundaries to limit interruptions
  • Noise canceling headphones (I love the Air Pods Pro, https://lexisalist.com/product-recommendations-work-life02/)
  • Packing up and disconnecting after work to ensure that I didn’t stay connected 24/7
  • Getting outside as much as possible (e.g. walking around the block)
